IoT, IIoT, IoE…. by Sampsa Tiainen at 12:44 PM 19/2/2016
IoT, IIoT, IoE…. GE uses the terms "Industrial Internet" and "Industrial Internet of Things" interchangeably. Cisco, supported by Qualcomm, uses a competing term of "Internet of Everything" (IoE). According to Cisco, IoE is a broader concept that IoT or IIoT, because it emphasizes the importance of networks in connecting things, perhaps unsurprisingly given that Cisco is the global leader in networking. Cisco's official definition is that "IoE brings together people, process, data , and things to make networked connections more relevant and valuable than ever before."
